Maximo and Fleet

I am wondering if anyone out there is using the Transportation Module of Maximo to manage your fleet. If so, what version and what have your experiences been?

Is anyone using a different fleet software in conjunction with Maximo? If so, what software? Any feedback, thoughts, advice?

We are trying to figure out the best way to manage our fleet and are looking for ideas.

Hi Jessica,

Our Fleet department is now probably our most active Maximo users - but they operate just fine using only core Maximo.
I addressed this question in detail under the "Maximo 6x" forum:

However, we are now studying getting Fleet another solution that uses GPS and satellite to broadcast fleet information to a hosted software site. This would include transmitting inspection evidence and possibly even vehicle computer codes. They can then track the vehicles through a hosted mapping solution. It can even compute the speeds that vehicles have been traveling at. We haven't determined all the Maximo integration implications of this idea yet. Once we determine all the requirements, there are several companies offering such solutions, so it will have to go out for RFP.
