Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan Management using Maxim

Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan Management using Maxim

Postby JJOYCE on Mon Jan 05, 2009 4:32 pm

We are getting together our plan for stormwater pollution prevention (SWPPP) and are trying to figure out the best way to use Maximo to assist with this effort. If anyone is willing to share with me info on how you set up your data (locations, equipment, PMs, etc) regarding SWPPP, I would love to talk to you.

Please contact me at 206-728-3577 or email joyce.j@portseattle.org
Thanks!

Hi Jessica ,
Is there anything specific you’re looking for that you want to do with Maximo in regards to SWPPP? We use Maximo for tracking locations, issuing PM’s, tracking labor and parts for our system.

We are using Maximo to manage locations, assets and PMs hitting multiple GL accounts and some we are doing for our tenants and billing them for the work. We are currently managing 500+ catch basins and other related things. We have permit requirements to follow and need to be able to provide reports to Dept of Ecology.

We have been setting up location zones with about 20-25 catch basins maximum per zone. We were eventually going to put each individual basin in as a location but not right away. We plan to drive the PMs for inspections off of the zoned location and create follow up work orders for each individual basin when it needs to be cleaned, repaired, etc. It turning out to be a lot of manual (outside of Maximo) management.

If you have any words of wisdom as to what you are doing and how it is working for you, it would be much appreciated.

Hi Jessica,

What you’re doing now sounds very good. We have our catch basins broken down by concourses ( B & C). Every 30 days they get inspected. We just had 8 days of rain that caused one to flood a few time during the week. ( I felt like I was in Seattle :) ) With our prior PM’s showing it tested OK and there were no mechanical reason for the clogs we have figured that we must have an issue with the line it drains too. You should be able to see patterns of ones that are causing issues and then focus on getting them repaired too. We to also need to show that they are being checked for regulatory compliance requirements from our environmental compliance department too. I hope this helps you with your tracking project.
